Membership


The Association of Persons consists of regular and honorary members.

Regular Members

Regular members may be scientists in relevant fields, students, related government officers, leader enteorise, engineers, practitioners of cultural heritage, artists etc. who interesting and committed in research and protection of the river and its heritage are welcome to be members.

Honorary Members

Corresponding and Honorary members may be nominated by the Board of Directors and approved by the General Assembly. These include who have excelled in their scientific work and/or have rendered exceptional services to river management and river heritage protection

The founding members are by default considered regular members of the Association of Persons, form the first General Assembly (G.A.), and proceed with the election of the first Board of Directors (B.o.D.) of the Association.

All regular members have the rights and obligations arising from the provisions of common law and the Statutes of the Association. They participate in all scientific activities of the Association, in voting procedures for administrative decisions during the General Assemblies, and are required to pay an annual membership fee. They have the right to vote and to be elected to any position within the Board of Directors.

Honorary members participate in the scientific activities and in the General Assemblies of the Association without voting rights and are not obliged to pay an annual membership fee.

Regular members are admitted upon decision of the Board of Directors, following a relevant application.

Members are considered financially settled if, by the beginning of the regular General Assembly, they have fulfilled all financial obligations up to and including the current year’s membership fee.

Expulsion of Members

A member ceases to belong to the Association of Persons upon the submission of a free membership fee for the two first years which must be accepted by decision of the General Assembly.

Resources of the Association

Annual membership fees will be decided by the first board of directors.

 

Potential income from the publication of proceedings or other scientific material owned by the Association, as well as from the organization of scientific conferences, symposia, and other events.

All types of donations and grants, inheritances or bequests, which are accepted upon approval by the General Assembly, as well as extraordinary contributions from members.

The Association of Persons is a non-profit legal entity. During its operation and upon its dissolution, profit distribution to its members is strictly prohibited.

In the event of dissolution of the Association of Persons for any reason, its assets shall be donated to an academic, intellectual, or educational institution, as determined by the General Assembly that decides its dissolution.

The Association welcomes individuals passionate about river research, cultural heritage, and environmental protection. Regular members enjoy full voting rights, can stand for election to the Board, and actively participate in scientific and cultural initiatives. Honorary members are recognized for their outstanding contributions and may join activities without membership fees. Together, we work to safeguard the river and its heritage for future generations.
